Under Armour, the second largest sportswear brand in the US, is accelerating its expansion into China. CEO Kevin Plank sees China as a vital component of his vision for Under Armour to achieve US$ 7.5 billion in global revenue.
“This market is incredibly hungry for the Under Armour brand,” stated Plank during a TV interview in Beijing in early September. “China is a massive, explosive opportunity for us. Without question we believe China alone is a billion-plus dollar market opportunity for the brand.”
