An abandoned warehouse proved to be a great location for this bike store, with plenty of space and enough room for an indoor test track. But this enormous space also created a challenge for the interior architect, Bruns… an acoustic problem.

With cement floors and brick walls, the sound bounced and echoed throughout the space. So they created a unique solution – The Tornado – a mobile made from a combination of more than 50 freestanding and hanging Matrix Frames with acoustic panels inside.

In order for the structure to follow the tornado shape, each of the Matrix Frames required different angled corners, making the job more complex. And to make the diabolical puzzle of different shapes and sizes easier for installation, all profiles were color coded by America Digitaal Druk, the producer of this impressive structure.
